CMP 1.0: CMP System Overview

Suppliers and Customers are provided an overview of basic terminology and concepts, organizational flow, and Supplier performance certification requirements. To mange expectations, this phase includes an overview includes an overview of CMP 2.0 through CMP 5.0 as described in subsequent sections.


CMP 2.0: Organizational and Performance Benchmarking Readiness

CMP 2.0 provides an overview of organizational requirements to manage a Supply Chain project using RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Communicated, and Informed) to assess Supplier organizational structure to manage a Supply Chain engagement and provides training in developing a Supply Chain Strategy and collecting data for Performance Benchmarking. Training is provided in three parts with home work assignments necessary to complete submission of data to receive a Performance Benchmarking SCORcard™. All training is provided by APICS/Supply Chain Council P-SCOR and APICS certified instructors  and Industrial Engineers.


CMP 3.0 - Performance Benchmarking

Based on data derived in CMP 2.0 (Organizational and Performance Benchmarking Readiness), Suppliers undertake the process of Supply Chain Product Level performance benchmarking and receive an Executive SCORmark Performance Benchmarking Report after uploading data to PriceWaterhouseCooper (PwC)The Report details Current State Reliability, Responsiveness, Agility, Cost, and Asset Management Supply Chain Performance levels and performance gaps against Industry Group and/or Customer specific competitive ranges.

Suppliers also methodically address its Whole Enterprise Level maturity in the operational areas of Commitment to Continuous Improvement; Process and Quality Management; Performance and Results; Management Systems and Planning; Support for New Product Development; Process and Quality Management; Manufacturing Capability & Improvement Process; IT Systems; Sub-tier Relationship and Control; Financial and Material Control; Industrial Marketing Quality Systems; Logistics; and, Sustainability. An Operational Maturity Assessment Report is provided based on input provided by Supplier and Industry Group and/or Customer data regarding maturity requirements.

CMP 4.0- Analysis and Deployment

Based on data derived in CMP 3.0 (Performance Benchmarking , Suppliers methodically analyze both Supply Chain and Operational Area performance gaps, determines best practices to close identified gaps, and participate in a Supply Chain Case Study  focused on its management of a Supply Chain project  from skills derived in above learning phases. Supply Chain Case Studies would be developed and Advance Manufacturing systems needs and integration factors assessed during this phase.

CMP 5.0: Development, Expansion, and Continuous Improvement

Building upon the outcomes of CMP 4.0 (Analysis and Deployment), an in-plant assessment is conducted in key Business Process Areas as well as external assessment of the maturity of the Operational Areas addressed in CMP 3.0 (Performance Benchmarking). The objective of this phase is to develop a new or modify existing Strategic Improvement Plan (SIP), including that for Advance Manufacturing, Supplier implementation, performance transparency, continuous improvement, and job creation/retention. The Supplier commences Performance Benchmarking Reporting and Continuous Improvement. Supplier is subject to Supply Chain Performance Maturity Certification.
