In one of the group sessions during the March DMSCA conference, questions were raised from the supplier community regarding the supply chain excellence journey of sponsoring companies:

• How do DMSCA Corporate Members align their Supply Chains to achieve Supply chain Excellence?
• How is DMSCA Corporate Mentoring Program (CMP) Supplier performance information used by its Corporate Members?

McCormick and Company responded and agreed to host an event to address the fundamentals of these questions. McCormick embarked on their journey to Supply Chain Excellence in 2002. Full utilization of SAP, numerous customer awards, and superior supply chain performance are proven results achieved over time.

Purpose

As a DMSCA Executive Corporate Member, McCormick and Company has agreed to share highlights from their journey including detailed discussion of case studies for two Supply Chain initiatives. The session will be facilitated by Peter Bolstorff, author of Supply Chain Excellence and include McCormick’s top Supply Chain officers and staff. This will be a rare view inside a Corporation that has made Supply Chain Excellence utilizing the Supply Chain Council’s Supply Operations Reference (SCOR) model part of its corporate culture. Suppliers utilizing the CMP SCORmark™ SCOR derivative will not only learn first-hand its importance for Corporations in understanding a Suppliers alignment with its Supply Chain practices, but also gain a better understanding of why they too must embark on their own continuous journey to Supply Chain Excellence.
